My Almost Totally Yorkie Friend

This is my friend, Pixel. Pixel visits here a lot, and leaves funny and nice comments on my posts.

Pixel is a Yorkie-Poo, I hope I spelled that right and won’t tell you what I thought it meant at first (LOL), because Pixel’s human, the famous “Pop Art Diva” said she is called that because she is partly poodle. But only about 10% so that’s why she’s almost totally a Yorkie just like me!!

I’ll tell you why her picture looks like it does in a minute…but first, this cute little Yorkie lives in Arizona, and loves to travel to art shows with her owner. I’ve also heard she LOVES her cookies!

Now for the picture, if you are owned by a talented artist, I guess this is what happens to your picture, your hair gets a “Photoshop Grooming”. I bet that if you have a dog picture that needs a Photoshop Grooming, the Pop Art Diva can do it for you, but I’m not sure, you’ll have to ask her. She has a really colorful website right here, and you can find her colorful blogs from there.

AND, not to be outdone, Pixel is going to have her own blog, just like I do. Her blog is going to be pixelthepuppy.com, if you go there now, and there is nothing but a hosting service page, come back and try again soon!

Cops Make “Kissy Faces” At This Friend

admin | My Pet Friends, dogs | Thursday, 26 June 2008

I have another friend to introduce you too, and from this picture, I’d say this is one lucky dog! I mean look at her, she can lounge in the grass…I can’t do that ’cause I have allergies to flea bites, even if they just hop on and give me one little bite, and that happens even if I have my Frontline on. Kelly is 12 1/2 years old, and is part Yellow Labrador Retriever and part something else, maybe terrier.

Her full name is Kelle Belle, and her owner, Debra Shiveley Welch said saying her name is kinda’ like singing “Wooly Booley”, my owner laughed, but I was a little confused? After all, my owner is a LOT older than I am…oh, I’m not supposed to say that!  But she remembered a song and started to sing it.  Very strange human behavior.

I guess you’re wondering about the “Cops” thing. My owner said Cops are Police men and women. They ride around in cars that have sirens and flashy lights sometimes.  They are there to protect humans from danger, but she said that once in a while, VERY rarely (ha!) one pulls up behind her and she has to pull the car over and show the police person some little papers in her wallet.  Then he gives her something called a ticket.

But for Wooly Booley, I mean Kelly Belle, that doesn’t happen. When they are driving behind her owners car, they think she’s so cute they make kissy faces at her, I bet that has saved Debra LOTS of tickets! I’ll have to try that sometime, because even though I don’t know what a ticket is, it sounds like something bad.

I’m happy to have another new friend! She takes good care of Debra’s son, Chris, too. Oh, did I tell you that Debra and her son are both authors? You’ll have to visit Debra’s website!

Have You Heard of Dogster?

admin | Other Sites | Thursday, 26 June 2008

One of my friends (you’ll meet him later) introduced me to a new website, just for dogs! I haven’t figured it out yet, it looks like a place to have a blog, and I already have a blog, but it looks like there’s a lot more. The site is called “Dogster“.

The only thing I didn’t like was that Yorkshire Terriers were number 9 in the “popular dogs” part of the home page, of course I think we should be number 1 >:-(< Oh well.

When my owner has time, I’ll have to get her to help me browse around the site more and see if there’s any nice dogs for me to be friends with. I wonder if there’s a “Catster”?

Cats and an Author in Australia

admin | Cats, My Pet Friends | Thursday, 26 June 2008

I thought I’d introduce you to some of my friends. Some I’ve met all by myself, others my owner has introduced me to. Today I’m going to introduce you to 4 cats, yes, me, a dog introducing cats. But these are special cats because they are owned by a special lady in Australia who is having a book launch TODAY! If you are a person who works at home, or thinking of working at home, you’ll want to visit eBook & Book Reviews & News and look for the post on this special “Amazon Blitz”. Don’t worry, it opens a separate page and you can come right back here after you visit. It’s going great so far!

Anyway, back to the cats. This is from Kathie Thomas’ web page showing her cats taking advantage of her office space, the place where her books have their beginning, at least the writing part. They are really cute!

and finally, Toki, after a long day in the office.

Thanks, Kathie, for sharing these pictures, they are so fun, and here’s the original post that Kathie sent us to borrow the pictures from.

Kathie, my owner and I wish you the very best in with your “book blitz” today and hope you sell lots of copies of “Worth More Than Rubies“, my owner bought a copy, she can’t wait to get it!

Tips on Buying Horses

admin | Horses, Other Pets | Monday, 23 June 2008

My owner loves horses. She used to have one, and wanted us to write about horses on this blog, so we talked about it, and I let her add a page to the site with some simple horse buying tips.

She used to own an Appaloosa, and said that I am smaller than a horses head. I guess I must be pretty small, or horses must be really big. I like writing about me the most, and thought we had agreed we would just write about little dogs, but she loves other kinds of animals too, abd begged me, and promised me an extra snack that she’s giving me right now!

Enjoy the horse article, we’ll be back with something about dogs tomorrow. Snack time!

Saturday With My Owners

admin | Lazy Days | Saturday, 21 June 2008

Today it’s a beautiful, sunny day, and for some reason my owners are inside. I am trying everything I can think of to get their attention, but the big man of the house who spoils me most of the time is putting music on his palm pilot that he got last week for Father’s Day. I tried bringing my toy to him, but he didn’t want to stop and play. I know later he will want to play, so I told my other owner to type this message about how hard it is to be a little dog that wants to play but has no one to play with. After she is finished, she said she’d take me out for a walk, and make sure to give me some tummy rubs and scratch behind my ears, I love that!

Hope you are all having a happy Saturday!

Snack Time Yorkie Pictures

admin | Dog Food, Dog Food Recipes, Yorkie Pictures | Friday, 20 June 2008

Hi people, it’s me, Aspen the Yorkie, with pictures of myself waiting for my snack. I LOVE snack time, it’s my favorite time of the day!

Here’s a (blurry!) picture of me waiting while my snack is being broken into tiny pieces, I know, you’re wondering why they have to break my snacks in tiny pieces. I guess I’m kind of strange, but I don’t like chewing or gnawing on things. I’ve been given every kind of chew thing you can think of, and I don’t like them. What things do you dogs out there like to chew on?

And finally, here’s me eating, I’m so happy!! I love my snacks.

My owner may try making some snacks sometime, I hope I like them!

Bad News, My Owner Wants to Clean More

admin | Feeding at Table | Wednesday, 11 June 2008

Like any other dog, one of my favorite things to do is to enjoy the little tidbits of food that are dropped on the floor by my owners. Sometimes they drop them by accident, and sometimes on purpose. I have the man of the house trained to give me food at dinner time right from his plate. And he’s the one that made the rule that there would be no feeding the dog from the table when I moved in!

Then there’s those other times when I’m hanging around in the kitchen when dinner is being made. I bring my ball into the kitchen to trick them into thinking I want to play, but really, I’m just waiting for any little bit of food that they drop while preparing dinner. The other day was the BEST! They spilled part of a pot of RICE all over the floor, after it was seasoned, and so it tasted great and I moved right in to do my job of cleaning up the mess.

BUT, I’ve been hearing some talk about being cleaner around the house, something about a Dirt Devil that has received Energy Star approval. I don’t know what a Dirt Devil is, but the word “Devil” kind of scares me, especially if it means that it’s going to take away all the great goodies I’ve been finding left on the floor. I’ve also overheard some talk about saving energy, it seems to be a big thing with humans these days, and the AccuCharge Stick Vac (the only kind of “stick” I know about is the kind people throw so dogs can go fetch them) and Hand Vac use 70% less energy. Oh well, I guess you have to be a human to understand these things, and I guess I’m just going to have to hope my owner doesn’t change his mind about that feeding the dog at the table rule. Unknown
