It’s the first day of Autumn, and the days are getting cooler. I’m still getting my owner to take me out for my walks, but when the weather gets really cold, it’s going to be time to bring exercise indoors, and I won’t get as many walks as I used to. As you may already know, there are a number of exercise programs on the market.
My owner has been looking at a program called XFLOWSION, and thinking about whether or not to bring celebrity trainer, Eric Paskel, into our home…on DVD of course.
I hope my owner thinks about the fact that it’s been years since she’s done full-body toning exercises, and remembers to start out easily, but this looks like it could be fun, if nothing else, it will be entertaining watching her try to do the exercises.
From what she’s read, this is a TRIPLE TRAINING™ exercise program, which combines moves from dance, power yoga and martial arts to stretch, tone and sculpt your body in about 1/3 the time of many programs on the market today.
I’m not sure that, at her age, she’ll end up looking like some of the Hollywood stars that Paskel has trained in the past (please don’t tell her I said that!), but she’ll never know unless she tries. At least, if all that I read at the XFLOWSION website is true, she’ll never be bored, and neither will I!
Worms, ick, I can’t imagine any dog having to deal with worms, I never have, at least I don’t think I have. But we decided to add an article about worms and worm remedies to the blog, look at the list of pages to the right, and you’ll find it.
I think the reason we don’t have much trouble is that I’m a small dog, and never run totally free. I don’t eat garbage, only eat the things my owner gives me, and they are all good foods. But if you are having trouble with worms, click right here to go to our article.
I’m so excited! A few weeks ago I got an invitation from a very popular dog website called “Dog Time” to be a blog star. They just started this program at their site, and asked if we would like to have our blog feed fed into it…I don’t know what that means, as I’ve told you before, dog snacks are the only thing I like to be fed, but this site wanted to be fed blogs. Oh well, whatever that means, I’m pretty excited about it. You can click on the button in the sidebar to the right to visit, it’s a HUGE site, and once you get there, it might be a while before you find your way back here.
My doggie friend at “Travels with Bob” does a good job of giving vacation reviews, but I’m going to give it a try today. September is actually a very nice time to vacation down at the Jersey shore, you all know we live in New Jersey, don’t you?
I remember one time my owners took me along with them on their Jersey shore vacation, but not this time. In the Spring, they decided to go away for a few days and leave me behind, because I don’t like riding in the car as much as I used to. They started their trip at Sandy Hook, and worked their way down to Long Beach Island. But I’ve heard them talk about trips they have taken all the way down to Cape May and Wildwood, and the fun they had on the Boardwalk. When their children were still vacationing with them before they grew up, they would take off for fun family beach vacations.
One of the nicer Wildwood attractions is Morey’s Pier. There are lots of rides for those that want to do more than just spend their time sun bathing on the beach. I don’t think it’s too late to plan something fun like a trip to the shore, there is more information than I can ever write about here at moreyspiers.com, a LOT more, it’s a very helpful site for anyone planning a vacation in that area. You may even be able to find a hotel that will accept dogs, so you can take your pet along with you…but if you decide to leave your pet at home, be sure it’s with someone they love.
I have another friend to introduce you to today. I have had Shadow’s picture for a LONG time, but today is a perfect time to introduce you, because Shadow and his owner, Heidi Caswell, live in Texas. So does Betty, Copper’s owner.
We are thinking of all of our people and pet friends in Texas and the other states that will be affected by hurricane Ike and praying for you. Here is a picture of Shadow…I’m a dog, and not supposed to like cats, but have to admit he sure is pretty for a cat.
Here is what Heidi shared about Shadow in her email to us back in June…as you can see they are no stranger to nasty weather, and may be in for another dose of it:
This is Shadow, he loves attention, loves hanging out in the house. A big chicken at times. If we have company he is hiding out.
He lives to get between me and the computer monitor if I’m on the desktop. One time he hacked up a hairball on my keyboard. No problems since. If on my laptop, he has learned to curl up at my feet instead of plopping down on my keyboard.
He was outside during our nasty April 1 hail storm. Very happy see us and come inside. A few weeks ago, during a nasty storm he was acting very nervous. He’d pace back and forth, rub against me and leave, etc. Then the tornado sirens went off (funnel cloud spotted within a mile, headed my way) .
So I did my laptop, cell phone with blanket and bottle of water routine. Shadow climbed on my lap, then left for the bathroom. He opened the towel cupboard, climbed in, and somehow shut the door behind. It was hours before he came back out.
He loves to play soccer with tin foil balls up and down the hall with his little sister.
He believes it is his job to keep all flat surfaces cleared off. The other day he knocked a big jar of pennies off my son’s dresser. Shadow does a great job keeping everything cleared off.
He will tag your ankles when walking by and take off. Missing car keys? Check his stash. I watched him knock mine off one day and followed him, and there were other keys in his stash. Now I can blame lost keys on Shadow instead of menopause or ADD.
Please be safe, friends in the path of Hurricane Ike.
