First, I want you to know that I’m doing just fine since my rabies shot experience that I told you about in my previous post. All my red blotches went away by about midnight the night of the shot, and the swelling on my back was down by the next day. So I’m fine….phew!
But that’s not what I really came to post about, I want to tell you that my owner is getting into her “shopping online” thing lately, I guess with the holidays coming, she’s looking into sites that are good shopping sites.
Today she went to one called www.ExtraDime.com, and since my favorite thing is dog treats, we put “dog treats” in the search box, and let it search “all categories”, and a lot of nice things came up for us to chose from. She was happy to see that some of the treats were natural treats…I guess that’s a good thing, I just want them to taste good.
Anyway, she thought the site was fun, and easy to use. Here are some things I heard her say about it:
There were lots of good deals on the site, a great thing with all that is in the news about the economy lately.
There’s little colorful “icons” that help you find the best discounts.
We already told you how fun and very easy it is to use the search feature. Put in what your looking for, search all categories or narrow it down to a specific category, easy!
She said something about a tag cloud, I guess that’s something different from the clouds I see when we go outside for my walks, it’s supposed to help you know what categories have the best discounts.
You can join in forum discussions, and they will share advertising space with members by allowing Adsense banners in your member signatures…interesting.
There’s a lot of other fun things at extradime.com, be sure you head over for a visit, now I hope my owner will give me a treat, and soon!
Today our Town had it’s annual free rabies clinic, and since 3 years have gone by since my last shot, my owner took me to get mine. First, it was pouring rain, next we had to stand in a long line with a lot of other people and dogs, the one behind us barked the entire time, then we went into this big building and a man (actually he is my veterinarian…he does this clinic each year) stuck a needle into my upper back while my owner hugged me and covered my eyes…I would never bite, and didn’t need a muzzle or blanket over me like some of the other dogs.
But now we’re home and it’s been about 8 hours since my shot. I have a couple of big lumps where the shot was done in my upper back, my skin some red blotches in a lot of places on my body like I get if I get a flea bite (I’m very allergic to those, too) and I have been licking at my feet. My owner has been fussing over me, and has a bottle of chloratrimitron I think is how you spell it, an antihistamine that doesn’t cost much. Since I’m so tiny, she takes one of the already small pills, cuts it in quarters, and gives me a quarter hidden in a bit of my favorite canned food or a piece of chicken. If I seem bad before she goes to bed, she’ll give me some, but I am breathing fine, and tired right now.
I think I feel like curling up and going to sleep now, and will hope I don’t get worse during the night…because my owner won’t get any sleep if I do…and neither will I.
My owner and I were visiting YouTube today, and looking at yorkie videos, I got bored after a while because I only like my owner to look at me, so curled up and went to sleep.
Then I heard this strange sound, and noticed that my owner was looking at me like she thought I’d react…then she told me that the sound was a DOG. If it had really sounded like a dog, I would have been running in circles barking, but this does not sound like a dog, and I told her I think they dubbed the sound…she doesn’t agree. What do you think? Whatever, it’s a great little video in keeping with the season.
A little birdie has told me that many of you that visit are looking for yorkie pictures, and since my pictures are scattered throughout the blog on different posts, I thought I would give you a link that will put all the posts that have my pictures from when I was growing up as a little puppy until now, on one screen.
It’s fall, and the weather is getting cooler in many parts of the country, so fleas are looking for warm bodies to get away from the cold, and to enjoy snacking on, warm fuzzy little bodies like mine. I’m sure they like nice big dogs and cats, too.
This time of year it is especially important to use some kind of flea repellent so your pet doesn’t suffer like I have in the past with flea bites. We have that all under control now, and it’s especially important for me because I am allergic to flea bites, just one bite and my whole body gets red and inflamed.
