Can Dogs Get Skin Cancer?

Aspen | Cancer,Dog Ailments,Dog Skin Problems | Sunday, 02 November 2008

Yes they can, and my owner is wondering whether I might have it.  For a few years, I have had a little bump on my back, she would look at it, and it looked just like the rest of my skin. Never changed in any way.

Over the past month, it has gotten a bit bigger, then when I had the reaction on my skin to the rabies shot, it seemed to really react, and has a scab now that won’t heal.  So we are going to call the vet tomorrow and make an appointment to have it looked at and get it removed.  Of course, I don’t like that one bit…but we’ll keep you posted.

We will be back to share more information about dog skin cancer when we give you an update on how I am doing.  I feel fine, by the way!
