Finding Dog and Pet Prescription Discounts

Aspen the Yorkie | Uncategorized | Friday, 20 January 2012

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have needed a few prescriptions over the years, and as I get to be an older dog, the possibility of needing pet prescriptions increases. My owner doesn't have pet insurance, but we've done pretty well since they take good care of me and I'm healthy. Our vet requires that I have a physical exam no matter when I go in for anything if I haven't had one within a certain period of time, so we try to make sure we get everything we can covered in one visit to the vet each year. Rarely do we have to go more than one time in a year.

Recently we found out that our local Walgreens has a Walgreens Prescription Savings Club, and it includes PETS in the family! My owner had never heard of such a thing. Apparently you can pay a small price for the year for a family, $10, and that gives you discounts on not only 8000 brand-name human prescriptions and all generic medications, but also PET prescriptions. Pets are, after all, part of the family. By the way, it will also cover everyone in the family, including human dependents 22 years and younger. Individuals without families can join for $5 to get discounted prescriptions, flu shot and more.

You can follow Walgreens on Twitter, and visit Walgreens on Facebook, and "like" their page so you can learn more and be kept up to date on the latest news.

I Think I Should Win the Puppies vs Babies Contest!

Aspen the Yorkie | Uncategorized | Wednesday, 26 October 2011

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puppies vs. Babies for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My owner just got information about a fun Puppies vs. Babies online contest and we have decided that we're going to enter. We agree that both puppies and babies are cute, but I've convinced her that puppies are the best and will win.

You might think that the picture on this blog is me…the one in the upper right…well it's actually another Yorkie puppy, but looks almost like I did when I was a puppy. You might wonder why my owner isn't going to vote for babies or add baby pictures of her children for the contest. Well the kids are all grown up, they don't have grandbabies yet to show off, so when it comes to Puppies vs. Babies, I win in this house.

And what do I win? Okay, I haven't won anything yet, but the winning puppy (or baby) gets $5000! I think that would buy me a lot of toys and treats…my owner has other ideas for the money, but I'm sure that we can come up with some sort of compromise.

We've already visited the site and there are cute puppy and baby pictures and videos galore, we hope to see you there.

I’m Alive and Well!!

Aspen | Uncategorized | Wednesday, 24 August 2011

I know I haven’t been writing on my blog very much this summer. My owner has been taking it a little easier, and trying to enjoy the outdoors.

Yes, I’m still here, I’m pretty healthy, a little itchy because I always have trouble with allergies to something outdoors, we aren’t sure what, but not bad. We have kept the fleas and ticks away so far, which is the most important thing.  My owner brushes me every day which scratches my itches and feels so good.

The most fun thing that happened this summer for me was seeing the owner of my daddy and brother when she was here visiting from Florida. She said my daddy is not doing so very well, but he’s happy, and my brother is doing fine. If you haven’t seen our pictures before from when I was a puppy, you have to visit this page with yorkie pictures which will have links to other pages with pictures of me.

So we’re back, and should be doing more writing now.  Hope you had a safe summer.

Bone Health and Yorkshire Terriers

Aspen the Yorkie | Uncategorized | Thursday, 21 October 2010

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Marvelous Products. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am over 11 years old now, and like many Yorkies and other dogs my age, I'm feeling it in my legs. I could be doing worse, but my owners take good care of me. They make sure that I eat well, that the food they feed me has the nutrients in it I need, and they are careful NOT to give me foods that I'm sensitive to. Yorkies have sensitive stomachs. The great thing is, because they take care of me so well, I can still jump up on the couch and right up onto the back of the big padded rocking chair to bark at things out the window, not bad for a dog my age!

One thing you should know about Yorkshire Terriers is that the bones in our legs can be very delicate. Some Yorkie's legs may be stronger than others, depending upon heredity and size, but generally, the bones are quite thin. If you have a Yorkie, take a moment to feel the legs and you'll see what I mean.

Also, just like you, as we get older, all dogs get aches and pains in our joints. And just like humans, we can take supplements to help this, like Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM for dogs.

Yes, the very same thing that humans buy at the health food store, but carefully formulated just for dogs. My owner has a big bottle of this, she said it's Veterinarian recommended, and a value if you purchase the Value Size Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM for dogs.

This product contains some other strange sounding things that my owner knows about because she is a nutritionist, things like Hyaluronic Acid, MSM, Green-Lipped Mussels, Boswellia and Essential Fatty Acids. She thinks that big dogs will do just fine starting right in with this, and small dogs should do fine, too, but start out slowly and give with a meal…small dogs have more tender digestive systems, I know I do. The boswellia for dogs is a new herb that helps with joint inflammation.

It shouldn't be hard to get your dog to take these, the ones we have are Bacon flavored, yummy, and don't contain starch, soy, corn, wheat, dairy, gluten or any artificial colors or fragrances. There are no preservatives, but the expiration date is 3 years from now. My owner says the Vitamin E and other natural ingredients will take care of preserving the product.

So, if you're looking for something that will help your dog renew their joint cartilage and help with painful flare-ups, this Natural joint product for dogs may be just what you're looking for.

I forgot to tell you something very important, if you use the coupon code "OsteoPet22", you get a one time 10% discount off anything purchased at the Marvelous Products store.
