Aspen the Yorkie

Every night I like to sleep in the bed with my owners. First I spend some time looking out the window for raccoons that like to come up on the deck, and if they do, I bark. That sometimes means I have to leave the bed, so I think it would be pretty neat if there could be a picture of me on the pillow or blanket they have in the bed, so they won’t forget me.

I think the best way to get this done is to have a Photo Blanket made. It’s really not hard to do. You can order your bedding and upload the picture you want on it to a place on the web called Vision Bedding, and they will do all the work for you! I think that sounds like a lot of fun, it can even be a Personalized Photo Blanket…the pictures are very clear, you’ll have to visit the site to see how they do that. And that isn’t all we saw at the website, they even make dog beds with pictures of dogs on it. I could have a bed made with my dog friends pictured in some of the posts on this blog all over it. Then when I get kicked out of bed for barking, my owners will still have something to remind them of me on their bed, and I can go snuggle in to my Vision Bedding dog bed.  Oh, by the way, you can use any picture, it doesn’t have to be a dog.  What a fun gift idea.

Pixel is a Yorkie-Poo, I hope I spelled that right and won’t tell you what I thought it meant at first (LOL), because Pixel’s human, the famous “Pop Art Diva” said she is called that because she is partly poodle. But only about 10% so that’s why she’s almost totally a Yorkie just like me!!

I’ll tell you why her picture looks like it does in a minute…but first, this cute little Yorkie lives in Arizona, and loves to travel to art shows with her owner. I’ve also heard she LOVES her cookies!

Now for the picture, if you are owned by a talented artist, I guess this is what happens to your picture, your hair gets a “Photoshop Grooming”. I bet that if you have a dog picture that needs a Photoshop Grooming, the Pop Art Diva can do it for you, but I’m not sure, you’ll have to ask her. She has a really colorful website right here, and you can find her colorful blogs from there.

Hi people, it’s me, Aspen the Yorkie, with pictures of myself waiting for my snack. I LOVE snack time, it’s my favorite time of the day!

Here’s a (blurry!) picture of me waiting while my snack is being broken into tiny pieces, I know, you’re wondering why they have to break my snacks in tiny pieces. I guess I’m kind of strange, but I don’t like chewing or gnawing on things. I’ve been given every kind of chew thing you can think of, and I don’t like them. What things do you dogs out there like to chew on?

And finally, here’s me eating, I’m so happy!! I love my snacks.

My owner may try making some snacks sometime, I hope I like them!

Yes, that’s me above, asking one of my owners to please throw my stuffed bunny for me while he tries to sit and relax. I’m a bit overdue for a grooming, and it looks like it, doesn’t it? Usually my hair grows pretty long in the winter, and my owner trims it, and puts it in a pretty bow, I hadn’t had my daily grooming in the picture above.

In the early summer, when it starts getting warm, I get a nice short “puppy cut”. Shorter even than in the picture below…this is my favorite picture, after I was groomed once.

I’m doing good now after my dental appointment! Here’s some more pictures for you. These were taken somewhere between 9 and 10 weeks, after I moved into my new home. I was REALLY good and only woke up once the first night, that is because my new people lived right next door and I got to know them really well before I moved in. For a while, I could still go next door and play with my brother, and sometimes he came over and played with me, but now my Daddy and brother live in Florida. But I’m a happy dog because everyone here loves me so much!

In the picture on the left, my ears are down, I’m about 10 weeks old. In the picture next to it, a taken at about 12 weeks, you’ll see me with my ears up! My ears had a lot of hair on them, so my owner cut off all the extra hair, and the next day they were standing up…she went next door and did the same thing to my brother, and it worked for him, too.

This really should have been the first post to this blog. The picture to the left is a picture of my curly haired Dad, Winston, and my dainty Mom, Munchkin. The picture to the right is a picture of me and one of my brothers or sisters when we were first born, I can’t even remember which one. All that I know is that my owners tell me I was born first, then there were 3 more puppies.

There was trouble with a couple of my puppy brothers and sisters. A friend who raised Labrador Retrievers was there helping, they held the struggling little newborns, no bigger than hot dogs, and warmed them with their hands, and rubbed them on the sides to stimulate them. One died almost right away, the other lived a day or so longer. They kept putting him to Mom to nurse, and then fed him by hand because he wouldn’t take to the nipple, and unfortunately he only lived a little over a day.

My brother and I made up for it, though, by being loving and cute, and keeping everyone busy taking care of us.

Here’s my brother and I, I am the one that has more brown in my face, the one on the left in both pictures. We are posing on the couch at 6 weeks, and to the right we’re all ready to go to the vet at 7 weeks. We had to go to the vet a lot when we were puppies and we always got LOTS of attention wherever we went.

In the picture to the left, I am with my brother, Brutus, when we were 10 days old. We were always together. I am the one on the top in both of the pictures.

In the second picture, we were about 3 weeks old. My owners lived right next door, so they came over almost every day to see us, and took pictures every week so we would have them to enjoy and share with you!
