My Owner’s Vinyl Record Collection
My owners live in a small home, and even though they love collecting things, they don’t have room for everything, and a while back they had to say goodbye to their vinyl record collection, the records weren’t in the best shape, but included a lot of old Beatle records, and other records from when they were in their teens and twenties. Now they listen to CD’s and download music from their computers.
As a dog, I don’t know a lot about vinyl records, but I guess if some of them can have
a picture of a dog like the one to the right on their label, then they must be something good!
One of my owners loves to go to auctions and look at antiques and knows the value of vinyl records, especially 45′s that are in great condition, so she got pretty excited when she read about the Weston Taylor Collection that 991.com, a world leader in rare music memorabilia, acquired.
They were invited to go look at a collection, not something all that unusual for them, but what a surprise to find about 7000 vinyl LP’s and single records that had been safely stored for over 50 years. They belonged to Weston Taylor who was a journalist for “News of the World” in the mid 1950′s until he passed away in 1975. He was a respected entertainment critic, so it’s no wonder that this collection meant a lot to him. He was a film critic, and loved silent movies classic comedy movies, like the old Laurel & Hardy movies.
The Weston Taylor Collection that 991.com acquired covers, 60s & 70s originals, beat, pop, psych, mod, freakbeat, northern soul, prog, rock and jazz. Most of the records and demo’s and the LP’s are factory sample/review copies.
