People in Haiti Still Need Help

A while back I did a post about the work that the rescue dogs were doing in Haiti to help rescue people trapped in the rubble after the terrible earthquake there. Even though you don’t hear as much as you used to on the news anymore, there is still tremendous need there…and it’s hard to get your mind around how difficult it is for the people when you live in a comfortable house with plenty of food and water. Their rainy season is going to be starting soon, and many are just living under tarps, we even saw this when we looked at the area using Google Earth, clusters of people and tarps.
There are only a few days left to do something that might help the people of Haiti. Throughout the past month, Cryo-Cell has been donating $25 to “Save the Children:Haiti Relief Fund” whenever someone enrolls with them. Cryo-Cell is a cord bank, you may know what that is, but if you don’t, it’s a place that harvests stem cells from your newborn baby’s umbilical chord after birth so that you have them in case they are needed for health reasons later on…they are an absolute perfect match to your child. Isn’t that amazing? They didn’t have things like this when my owners had their babies. So if your child were to suffer from a disease later in life, and stem cells were needed for whatever reason, you would not have to find a matching donor, you would have the stem cells you need already.
