Why Can’t Dogs Wear Glasses?
As we get older, our vision can get bad, just like a persons, but I don’t see too many dogs going around with glasses on, like the one in the picture here.
The HUMANS in this house wear eyeglasses, but not the dogs. Sometimes they go to a special doctor called an Optometrist, no, not a Veterinarian like me, but anĀ Optometrist who does all kinds of funny things to their eyes, and then sells them glasses. I’ve heard my owners say that even with the insurance that they have for vision, even though it saves them a lot of money, it still costs quite a bit.
So, one time one of my owners got eyeglasses through an online store, a place where the lowest priced glasses can be as little as $8 dollars. He had to send special measurements to make sure they were just right because they were bifocals, in fact he did it wrong the first time, and the Zenni Optical people were very helpful in replacing them. He did have to pay 1/2 the price of the glasses again, but they were so very inexpensive, that it was still a big savings.
The owners told me to add this link to a very good article at examiner.com that gives an honest review of the place where they got their glasses, and maybe some help on how to avoid what my owners did.
Oh, and the picture of the dog with glasses, we found him at dogs-looking-like-people.tumblr.com, I don’t have any glasses yet:-)

Aspen, You will be happy to know that my mom was kind enough to at least get me a pair of Doggles to be worn when we go river rafting. But, man! I wish I could have glasses whenever my eyes go bad.

Hi MJ,
Lucky Panther to be able to go river rafting!
We live on a lake, and it’s not very busy, so I don’t have any “Doggles”, but they sound cool, will have to get my owner to look into them.
Thanks for stopping by!
Aspen
